Turkey Time

To commemorate my bro-in-law's and my husband's b-days we decided to throw them a "Happy Turkey Party" and then allow them to go turkey hunting. It was fun for us too as we got a slumber party at my sister's with our cousin. It was really a great time. Thanks to my sister's creativity we had a yummy venison chili, mini-burgers, and pina coladas! YUM! I supplied the cake. Vivi and I had a great time making the turkey cake. Check out a few pics.

Recently, I had the priveledge of taking Vivi to see a live musical of "Cinderella" that a local school put on. It was really special as they allowed all the little princesses to dress up in their costumes and they really geared this performance to little ones with two intermissions and lots of patience for crying. Also, included was a live carriage with horses hooked up that we enjoyed watching and taking pics with. I was so impressed with the caliber that these students represented. It was really fun to see Vivi's eyes light up when Cinder hit the stage. All the girls we joined in the fun really wanted to meet the stars, and since we knew one of the "actors" we got to visit with many of the "stars" afterwards as they came to talk to their friend. Vivi's favorite was the stepsisters (they were really funny in this one) and Vivi got to meet and hug one of the girls afterwards. Check out some fun pics!

He is Risen! He is Risen indeed! We had a LOVELY LOVELY Easter weekend of celebrating. It all got kicked off Saturday morning. We received a lovely Easter box full of fun goodies from our Gigi who we'd hoped to see but we'll get to see real soon. Thank you for such a HUGE BOX of goodies! WOW! We missed you! After this crazy we joined my parents at their church's annual Easter egg hunt and games/craft time. The girls and Isaac really had a ball. Nick didn't get to rest a wink as Isaac is pretty much running all over! Fortunately, they do a lovely job of keeping the kids entertained. They have bounce houses, a face painter, crafts, an Easter bunny, and of course the fun hunt. The kids did really great and we got some lovely shots. We got to have a nice relaxing lunch afterwards. Later in the afternoon the kids dyed eggs at our place and we grilled out. It was so fun just hanging out at our house and enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather God blessed us with. Thanks to Nana and Papa we got to enjoy a double date of a movie that night. I can give you my review on the "Clash of the Titans" if you're interested. I loved it, but I'd say see the original first so you can really appreciate how far we've come in computer graphics. Sunday morning we showed Vivi and Isaac and empty tomb where Jesus (action figure wrapped in cut up t-shirt in a coffee can) had been buried on Friday. It was cool to hear how much Vivi understood. It's really fun to hear how God is probing her heart already. It was also funny to hear how she interprets things. Sunday we went to our church and then joined the family at my parents for lunch and an additional egg hunt at their house. Lots of lounging followed. Thank you family and everyone for such a nice holiday and time to celebrate Jesus ressurection. Enjoy the slideshow.

Happy Birthday Papa!

This year has been lot of fun celebrating one holiday and birthday after the next. My dad's birthday happened to fall right in Spring break for us and right in front of Easter so it was lots of fun! We actually stole my dad away in the morning to go see the butterfly exhibit at the gardens. It was pretty special, but man was it humid! WOW! We took lunch and had a nice picnic after, which helped the kids a lot! My mom planned a great night at a fun restaurant and museum which the kids had a great time at. Happy 65 dad! Thanks for spoiling us on your birthday. I hope it was fun for you half as much as we enjoyed it.

Spring Break...a little late?

This year, we had spring break in a different week than all of the rest of our friends and the city. At first, I started to get all bahumbag about it, but then in trying to see the good I realized I think it's pretty great. Anywhere we wanted to go was easy and not busy at all. We also got to spend some nice time at home just playing. In a way, we got to have time with friends secondary to time just us, and I really enjoyed my time with just the kids. I'm just going to include a couple of pics. On Wed. I took them to the zoo and we saw the new Mola exhibit. That was fun and I actually let us eat lunch there and have ice cream. Major treats for us!
