"Remember When"

Recently my mom shared with me a small excerpt from a daily devotional all about remembering what God has done for you. It quoted Psalm 77:11
"I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago." This devo encourages you to remember how He's brought you through the tough times so you can endure whatever new battle you are going through, but also to be grateful. It really struck me. My mom also looked up a bunch of verses with remember in them to encourage me. Another friend asked me how I was doing with two and all the transition. In keeping with trying to be transparent I told her it's tough, but she's also a young mom with three. I said "Wouldn't you agree?" I think it's tough for anyone with young kids. This is a tough time in our lives. I am so grateful that God has surrounded me with lots of encouraging believers and I do pray I will remember this time later in life. Some days it feels like I'm not going to make it to bedtime and other days I can't soak it all in fast enough. I must say I do see God's hand on me and my family frequently and I would like to express my gratitude for all the friends and family who have supported us. We feel very loved through this transition. Thanks! Take time to thank God for those who have blessed your families.

New kind of Fairy

Check out this ensemble! I just had to post this pic. I couldn't get Vivi out of her Hello Kitty shirt. Note to mommies, don't buy character shirts unless you want to battle it out on wearing a t-shirt until it can walk on it's own! Also, we walked to my parents that morning and it turned out to be a little colder than mommy had anticipated so nana loaned us these socks to keep Vivi's legs warm (she insisted on shorts!). As you can tell we are having outfit battles in our house, but when staying home I figure she can win that one. Long live the tutu, Hello Kitty, Christmas sock, princess shoes fairies!

Sweet Resting Moments

Does anyone remember what it's like to get a good nights sleep? This has been on my heart a lot lately! We had a little one sleeping through the night as well as the big girl somewhat back to a normal sleep time (it only took 2 months after the time change) and then all went a rye. We've reverted back to waking up 2 or 3 times a night. A few weekends back Nick and I decided to let Isaac cry it out and he apparently was better equipped for battle then we were. I think he cried about 1 1/2 hours straight and then finally got him down woke-up again for round two. This was also after waking up Vivi too (which takes quite alot). It was about 4 am, and I just nursed him so any of us could get some rest. Any way, I took these pics to "remember" what sweet rest looks like so when we get in this non-sleep cycle again I have some images to brand in my mind.

Happy Easter

We hope everyone had a truly wonderful Easter. I can finally say we had one holiday with no one sick! HALLELUIJAH! Easter is my favorite holiday, mostly because it's not commercialized, there is great food, great fellowship, and the most wonderful thing to remember- Christ has risen! We enjoyed Easter this year here with my family and Nick's parents came in for the weekend. It was full of fun memories of Easter egg hunts (the girls really got it this year and weather cooperated!), jump houses, face paint, dyeing eggs, and eating lots of yummy food. Enjoy the slideshow of our shots. We also celebrated all our guys birthdays this month by eating out a good dinner Saturday night. Sunday we headed to my parents church to enjoy their service and then to their house for some relaxing fun. I had a great time putting together Easter baskets this year and I went a little crazy getting Vivi some Tink wings (we encorporated fairies/princesses in to her big girl room). I also loved finding coordinating outfits for the kids. We got some great shots of Isaac in his cabby I'll have to do a seperate blog on that one. Enjoy our shots and I hope it brightens your rainy day.

Katherine's Party

Last Sunday we twirled, jumped, and had a ball at Katherine's birthday party. All Leanne had to do was put on the Veggie Tales Disco and Vivi hit the floor. Katherine held hands and they twirled. Gavin joined in with his big time dance moves! It was a rockin' time.

Little Monster

Last weekend Isaac crashed an all ladies luncheon in Aledo. I took a few friends out with our church's ladies' group to enjoy a really nice lunch and some social time. Mainly he slept but he soaked up all the attention he got at the end. I didn't get any pictures at the event but I had to snap these. Check out these cute socks. Thanks Gretchen for getting those. I'm glad we got one wear before he outgrows them!

Papa's birthday

For some, April 1st is a day of practical jokes and silly laughs. For us, all of those are on Papa-it's his birthday! My sis and niece came in so we could take him to lunch and spend some time playing. Unfortunately, it didn't warm up until late in the day which kept us from being outside too much, but that didn't stop us from getting an ice cream cake! Hope you had a special day and thanks for sharing some of it with us Papa. We love you!

Visit with Jaime and Fenton

Mommy's good friend Jaime came to visit and brought her sweet boy Fenton. We enjoyed a quiet lunch and a little time to play with our two guys. They were actually awake this time and quite talkative. Isaac even showed off his new rolling over trick for my friend. Hopefully soon we'll have them playing together! Thanks for making the truck over here friend.
