Happy Thanksgiving!!

Having a week off of school after you've had a week at home with sickies is a little different but I still think we took advantage of the time together doing crafts, working puzzles and crosswords, baking, and going to see family. Our Thanksgiving was lowkey here in town this year. We got to spend a day over on my sister's side of town at a jump park which the kids loved! We spent Thanks here and I convinced my mom to order in from La Madeline's. I am now their biggest marketer! It was so yummy and so easy and really reasonably priced. I think we should do this for every year going forward! We also got to go out for a ride on papa's horse which is always so nice and beautiful weather made the time fun too. Vivian and I covered desserts with our turkey cupcakes. Enjoy some top pics.

A time of Rest

Shortly after Isaac's party Mommy & Isaac got sick. We were able to squeeze in one friend's ChickfilA party. Happy birthday buddy Hadyn! We spent a couple of weeks taking it easy but praise to God that we made it through our party and our good friend's party and that we had it to rest. In that time, we also got to take advantage of some new toys and we kept our "family" dog- my sister's grandpa dog Oreo. Here are some fav pics.

For Isaac's 5th birthday we decided to combine his new love of karate with his new love of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Thanks to the generosity of Nana and mommy we were able to have it at the place we take Karate. It was so nice and simple and I think really worked with the theme. We had a ball coming up with TMNT references, little decorations, and treats. Isaac was the most involved he's ever been picking out all the giveaways this year. Enjoy the slideshow.

This year, we decided to do a family theme with just our little four pack. I also decided we would participate more in our church's trunk or treat by hosting a trunk. Needless to say, I went a little crazy with the theme! Check out pic of Nick and I in front of our van trunk. So...if you have seen the movie Wreck It Ralph you will understand us completely but if you haven't you won't have a clue. (If you haven't go rent it. It's really sweet and very fitting to our little candy loving, video gaming crew.) My sister's family also had a secret theme of Despicable Me 2. I loved my little nephew and niece's hats. Vivian kept saying how Aunt Emmy made the best Lucy. (Check out the pics of the Boyd family.) The funniest part of the whole dress up this year was how people didn't recognize me with blonde hair. So you ask, do blonde's have more fun? Hmmm....it may be a toss up! Enjoy the slideshow.

Walkathon

This year we got the perfect weather for Walkathon up at Vivian's school. Many neighbors supported us and really all Vivian wanted to do was get enough to get the dog on a leash and she made it! It was fun times and I enjoyed visiting with her while we walked a mile or so. Isaac even joined in the fun this year. It didn't hurt having his little friend Rylee there with her big sis. Our new principal was such a good sport. The kids raised enough money to slime her so I had to get a pic of that fun!

Isaac's new preschool took a fun fall field trip to Mainstay Farms. I had never been and it was such a neat place with a really cool story! I really enjoyed hearing how God had moved this couple to this vision and brought it together through lots of hard work and determination. If you ever want to enjoy a fun time you can head there at Christmas time to get a live tree too. It's pretty amazing. Here is our slideshow of shots. We got to ride with our new little buddy Rylee and her mommy Nancy. Thanks for the fun memories!

Cowboy up! We didn't even know if we'd make the Heritage Fest in our little community but we thought we'd go support my mom who's selling her book. While there, the kids saw there was face painting done by a local Vet clinic. Vivian got to ask questions from a girl I grew up with, who attended Texas A&M, and is now working with animals every day. She had stars in her eyes. After we went by the petting zoo which was rockin' this year! Enjoy the slideshow.

Daddy Times- a first haircut

Daddy's attempt to save a few bucks...he gives Isaac his first attempt at a haircut. Not bad! I will have to keep this in mind!

So for years my sister and I got together and went to the zoo, and the museums, and parks with our girls. Now those big girls are in 2nd and 1st grade so we now have two little boys and we decided we would venture to the zoo with them. It was really my nephews first trip there. It is hard for me to face sometimes that my kids are getting bigger and "outgrowing" some things. We did ask my mom to renew our membership for one more year to the zoo so I want to take advantage as much as possible but this is probably it. Enjoy this slideshow.

Birthday Party Fun

Here are a couple of shots that daddy took as he gets to endure part of the party train that goes on this time of year. On Sundays, daddy is responsible to get these two sweeties to friends birthday bashes, keep up with them, and maybe even snap a shot or two. I just thought this was pretty cool pics of the two kiddos at one of Isaac's friends' Claire's birthday party with a pony!

This year we decided to try and beat the crowds and headed to our local pumpkin patch the first weekend in October. We were blessed with a very chilly day which meant perfect weather for strolling through pumpkins, enjoying kettle corn, and avoiding crowds and crowds of people. Thank you to my sweet family for braving the cold with us. Fun times!

Aggieland Here We Come!

Last weekend, Nick and I got to go to our first Aggie game since we graduated!! We got a list minute invite from some friends Shaun and Brooke and went for it. We got to have a great time with our friends reliving memories. It was really cool getting reacquainted with A&M. It looks really different so much so that I had a hard time remembering how it looked when we were there. Plenty of old traditions remained but so much newness. Thank you to our friends for the invite and great seats at the game. Thank you to Kerri and Daniel for your generosity in hosting us. Your place was truly breathtaking! What a treasure in the middle of such a busy season.
