This past week was a little different. I didn't have as many activities planned because we got to go on our staycation- Great Wolf Lodge! IT WAS FANTASTIC!! We headed over on Wednesday and came home on Friday. It was a short but fun fun time. During our time there, we got to go to an indoor and outdoor waterpark, ride water slides, ride the waves, splash around, go on a magic quest, stuff and snuggle a wolf named Violet, color our own personal bag, enjoy scoops of ice cream named Cotton Candy, go to a story time in our pj's, sleep in bunk beds, watch movies with rice krispy treats and our fav candy M&M's, eat fancy dinners, wear wolf ears, play arcade games, and receive glitter tatoos. It was a lifetime memory hopefully for the kids. I would highly recommend it! Today, the end of the week we enjoyed some more water time with our friend Kyndall. Happy Birthday friend! Hope you enjoy the pics.

We had a built in activity every day this week as well as some of the previous weeks. This week Vivian participated in music camp and performed this morning. It was so amazing to see how that came together and how well they all did for Kinders and 1st graders! I was really proud of our little sailor! While big sissy was at camp, Isaac and I had some time to kill in the downtown area so we planned some fun times. Monday we had some friends over-thanks Anna and Jodi for making that happen finally! Tuesday we played outside as it was mild and walked around Central Market looking at fruits and fish. Wednesday was a fun day we went to the park Isaac calls Spiderman park because it has a big rope web the kids can climb. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures there I was too busy chasing kids and missing the fact that my son dropped trow and urinated on the only small patch of grass he could find. When I raced over to him to tell him to pull his pants up, he responded with "What mom? There's no potty here!" How could I argue that! After leaving the park, we headed to a local museum that has story hour every Wed. at 10:30 and they tour the museum (or at least as much as you can with 2-3 yr olds=3 paintings) and then provide a craft and snack. It was sweet. Thanks for joining us Christina and Rachel! Thursday we headed to the museum with our friends the Davidsavers and let the boys check out the grossology. That was true to it's name gross but fun! After we picked the girls up, we thought we'd let them have some fun so we took all the kids to Chuy's for lunch and rainbow push-ups! Great kids meals and mommy meals too!! Our little friend Aaron said it was the best day ever! Friday we came home and to the gym and made a special snack for the big girls. Isaac helped me make these rice krispy treats to look like paint brushes. I thought they turned out really cute! Saturday, was the girls performance. They all had these cute whale shirts and sailor hats-precious! As mentioned they really did great. Our little friend Ellen stole the show with her solo part. After we had brunch with Nana and some special whale cookies-thanks Nana! What a fun art week. Somewhere in the middle of this week, I got motivated to clean out the playhouse. It turned out looking pretty cute and the kids did some painting in there too. It's ready for any little friends that are into dress up or ready to endure some hot weather for fun play time. Enjoy the art pics.

Happy Independence Day friends! This past week we enjoyed cowboys and cowgirls and farm times for the week. Again, we started off with a bang-the zoo! Now, I know I said I would not do this again this summer, but they offered early openings on Mondays and it was actually a really mild morning so we invited our friends Kaylee and Meghan and took a chance. It turned out beautifully! Not only was it early opening also the train and carousel were free so we rode everything and really focused on Texas wild with a fun bbq lunch. Tuesday we went out to see Papa's horse and enjoyed a cold dip in the pool. The kids each got to ride Papa's horse by themselves and did great. His name is Tex but Isaac calls him Papa's Texas. Wednesday was the 4th and we spent the morning and day at my sister's swimming and enjoying a great lunch-thanks Em! That afternoon we headed home for a late nap and some downtime before heading with our friends the Bannerots to a great firework show. We got some fried chicken and apple pies-thanks Shelli and enjoyed live music, other new friends' bean bag toss game, and some games of uno before the free firework show got started. It was great and honestly the closest we've ever been. This year Vivian said it was the best night ever as she flicked away something on her forehead. That something turned out to be paper from the fireworks literally landing on us! Thursday we laid low just watching Charlotte's Web and playing around the house. Friday we were going to head to the Cowgirl museum but decided to visit with Aaron and Ellen instead. They had fun just running around and dressing up as cowboys while watching Toy Story 2. Saturday, Nick wanted to stay close to home so we cleaned and mowed. That afternoon the kids played with Kendall and Jack while we got to sneak away to a movie-thanks Jayme!! Sunday Vivian got to enjoy a fun horsey movie with Nana and Papa and Nick enjoyed the full day with the kids as I had a country wedding shower to attend. Enjoy the slideshow!

A Book Shower

This seems the year of friends having babies again. I have had many friends expecting with little ones due in the spring and early summer and one later in the summer! Two of those friends are in a mom's group with me and we wanted to do something low key and fun around food for these friends. Both of them it was their third round so we kept it simple but I think the theme worked out great! We have been talking about telling our story and our theme was based on kids books. Check out these fun shots!

This past week was a little adventure. I returned home from Austin and quickly had a turn around. My sister and her family came and we got to keep Chloe for the whole week so we could play and attend a VBS in the morning. I decided to make it garden/bugs week hoping we could get outside a little. The weather hit hard this week so our outside time was a little limited but we got out there a little late and early. Overall, I think the week was great for the kids. They had a good time at VBS getting to take part in fun crafts, drama, and water sports/games, and I worked it so Isaac could be a part of it as well. It was great just tiring but I know the kids had fun and heard the gospel which made it all worthwhile. We kept busy at home too doing some crafts in the afternoon including egg carton bugs and tissue paper snails. We did a few bubbles and slip and slide one afternoon at home. There was also a mid-week break to go see "Brave". Unfortunately, it wasn't what I had hoped and turned out to be not a great movie for this age kiddos. If you want more details on that, feel free to e-mail me! Friday rolled around and Chloe headed home that afternoon and we all crashed! On Saturday, the kids were worn out so we stayed in our pj's and I gave the kids some knee boards and galoshes and we played in the garden. They even set up a garden house for our fairies. Enjoy the pics!
