Jumping and Rolling

Little Isaac is working on some new feats-jumping and rolling. As mentioned before he has been rolling but I haven't caught it yet, until now. I was working with him on his playmat (we call it his kickkick mat) and he pulled over with the help of Vivi's doll's basket. Here are some shots of this. We also noticed how he's really strong to hold his head up and keeps trying to sit up. Nick suggested we try the jumper and although he's not jumping but more spinning, he seems to really like the independence it gives him. Here are some shots of this.

Spring Break

We had glorious weather for Spring Break. We didn't make any BIG plans just staying close to home and trying to soak up the time together. Sunday we ventured the furthest. Nana, Mommy, & Isaac went to see some friends' new baby-Fenton. He was a doll and all decked out in his A&M gear. We left Jaime's house and traveled to Addison to see Aunt Emmy perform in a dance concert. Unprepared we did not have tickets, and the show was sold out. Fortunately, we got on a waiting list and were able to make it to the show. Isaac did great enjoying seeing his aunt dance and Nana and I enjoyed the night out. Monday we went to Aunt Em's and had plans to get pedicures but our van died in their driveway once we arrived so plans changed. Still, we enjoying playing in her home and heading to the park. There are a few shots of the girls there and Aunt Em flying a kite (which involved running around with it-no wind). Tuesday, the Jones' watched Vivi while Isaac and I headed to mommy's dentist appointment. After picking Vivi up, I convinced them to join us for ice cream and some jump time at Sonic where they had a Blues Clues jump house set up and you could bounce for free with a purchase. Kaylee and Vivi had a good old time! Wednesday, plans fell through because of sick friends, so we stayed close to home and took lots of naps. We did meet up with daddy for a yummy mexican food lunch, but I didn't capture any pics of that. Thursday, our plans changed again but we enjoyed the beautiful weather taking a walk and busted out some new toys. I got Vivi a special mirror for dress up and she spent the morning twirling in her closet. We also enjoyed dressing up brother with his stacker. In the afternoon, we opened a huge new playdoh set and stamped and cut and created. Enjoy a pick of her with our creations. Friday, we hooked up with Aunt Em and cousin Chloe again to head to the zoo. It was busy busy but we still had fun. We left for a little bit of shopping with the girls and some playtime at the mall. By Friday night I was pooped! Saturday we had our friends the Latiolais come over to capture pictures of Vivi and Isaac for our walls. One week a year we get our wisteria out front in full bloom and it happen to line up so we got some shots out there. There is only a couple of shots we took with our camera-the feet and close up of Nick holding Isaac. If you want to see Jay's work you'll have to come on over to our house. Saturday night we invited our neighbors over for burgers and dogs. We sure enjoyed getting to know them better, but again I didn't capture any shots of them. Oh well, maybe next time. So...I didn't think we did much but it sounds like a lot! Enjoy the slideshow.

Fun Fridays

This past Friday we laid low and stayed close to home due to yucky weather and mommy having a sore throat. We certainly enjoyed our time though. Vivi played with her brother and then later that night our cousin and uncle Tad came to visit. We enjoyed a good dinner. Thanks Tad for bringing fish and cooking it up for us! We enjoyed getting to play with our cousin.

New Game with Isaac

This is one of Isaac's favorite things to do with his blanket- play peekaboo. So sweet!

Vivi's actual Birthday

I salvaged a few pieces from Vivi's party so we could piece together a special breakfast for her birthday. Here's a shot of the set up. I also went and got a special pink with sprinkles donut and we redid candles and everything. We also saved one big present for her to open that day- an Aurora costume and doll. This year Purim, a Jewish holiday that celebrates God's grace in sparing his people from Haman's evil plot- refer to Veggie Tales' Esther if you need a refresher- fell on Vivi's birthday. At her school they all dress up in costume and celebrate with treats and games all day long. It's a BIG CELEBRATION! We tried watching Esther a bunch before her birthday to explain that it wouldn't all be for her, but I'm not sure she got it. Check her dressed out in costume. Finally, I took a couple shots of her and brother on the mat. I included my favorite. They really were so sweet that day, but meltdowns occured around dinner time, so mommy demanded we eat out. When you've been peed on, pooped on, spit up on, and bit in one hour I think you deserve a meal out. Can I get an "Amen!"?

Very Hungry Caterpillar

I just realized a funny occurence in our house. While Isaac's appetite continues to grow like a Hungry Caterpillar, mommy's appetite grows with it. Unfortunately, Isaac's face rashes continue too so mommy's diet is diminishing! Oh well, at least that helps keep my weight gain down but it has the inverse effect on Isaac's growth. Check out my hungry caterpillar knawling on his hands. We think he may already be teething. You may say I'm crazy but if you felt his bite you might agree.

Vivi's My Little Pony Party

Our little girl celebrated her 3rd party in style at the Little Gym's. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone as they do everything but I couldn't let them do EVERYTHING! I had to have a theme. We picked My Little Pony's for her theme and then went with it. Enjoy some shots from her pony party. Thank you to all who made this day special with sweet gifts, bringing your kids, or helping make cookies. We really made a wonderful memory!

Isaac's 1st's

Isaac is changing as I mentioned in the last post of him but here are some accomplishments of our little tiger. He will now giggle especially when daddy makes this face (check out pics). He is trying to sit up out of his carseat so we introduced the bumpo and he loves it! Check out these sweet shots. Finally, he has rolled from both his tummy to his back and his back to his tummy. Unfortunately, I missed the later roll and I am working on getting him to do it again. Still, we are enjoying seeing the changes in our little guy.

Dinner with the Davidsavers

Since we had our second kiddo we've been wanting to have dinner with our friends the Davidsavers. We were able to time things out to join them recently for a yummy dinner in their home on their new dining set. We loved it! Here is a shot of the girls- Ellen & Vivi (6 months apart). They had SO MUCH FUN monkeying around together. It is really cool to have kiddos lined up. Hopefully sooner than later I can get some shots of our two little boys rolling around together. Aaron and Isaac are only a few weeks apart. We also had a funny moment I will write about but not post out of respect for our girls. I was visiting with Rachel in Aaron's room and the girls were across the hall playing around. All the sudden it got pretty quiet, which you know when they're up to trouble. I came out of the room and saw both of them just in their sweaters, (no bottoms), on their tiptoes, sharing the footstool, trying to wash their hands. They had both used the potties or at least dumped their treasures in there for us and were proceeding to try and take care of things themselves. It was hilarious! As I mentioned I did capture a pic or two and I'll have to bring it out at a sweet sixteen party or sometime in the future for a good laugh.

Vivian Elizabeth

One of our most common questions in the house is "What is your full name?" Then Vivi will proceed to tell you her name is Vivian Elizabeth. She has really taken a liking to her "full" name. People have asked us where we got her name and I think most everyone knows that Vivian came from my mom. It is her middle name. It means full of life- which is very fitting for our Vivi. Elizabeth however, we picked because we like the Elizabeth character in the Bible- John the Baptist's mother. She is really an amazing woman and I have been refreshed at why she is so amazing studying her this week in Bible study. Her life was marked by tremendous faith and continual service to the Lord even through 50+ years of barreness. BUT I had to mention this because I just learned what her name means- God remembers. In line with my word of the year is Vivian's name! God remembers! This has been our prayer that God remembers her and grants her grace and that she would know Him early on. We love you sweet Vivian Elizabeth.

Fairy Party

We got to attend another fun fairy party with the Topliss girls. We certainly enjoyed decorating the fairy houses- but mostly eating all the m&m's. Vivi loved the treasure hunt, but mostly dumping sand on your kitchen floor. She awed at her painted and decorated nails, but then mostly liked decorating your couch with them. So...maybe you were regretful we showed up but we had fun! Thanks for the memories.

My Little Boy Blue

Here are a couple of updated shots of Isaac- my little boy blue. He's really changing a lot! Unfortunately we got sick again so I took both kids to the doc on Friday and found out our little 3 month old weighs in at almost 15 pounds! WOW! I should have known something was happening when his bouncy seat broke in half. YIKES! His latest discoveries include his hands- chewing on them and grabbing with them- HARD. He also really likes his toys hanging on his swing. He's also taken a liking to sitting with daddy while he games- oh no! Finally, he REALLY likes eye contact. He will smile always for it and to keep it and will now cry loudly when he's not getting your attention. So we also may have a bit of a social bug. Mommy has her challenges ahead of her, but also he has me wrapped around his pinky already.
