This was a hard week for me to define but basically we had our first overnight camping experience for Vivian during this week so I wanted it to coincide with that. At the start of the week, we spent time in our tent reading and playing. We got to have some fun teddy grahams and some fun outdoor lunches. We also were spending our mornings getting her ready for camp-shopping and doctor appointments. Isaac and I filled out postcards for Vivian that they delivered while she was at camp. Wednesday we had a short but fun morning at the park. Wednesday afternoon we got Vivian packed and took her to Girl Scout camp with her buddies. Thank you for all who rode with us and Ms. Mills for sharing dinner and little emotions with me as we left our girls. The second we pulled out of camp it starting raining HARD! The girls were okay though and enjoyed the cool down. Isaac and I spent some days playing here with our friend Cole at the bounce house and Aaron at the waterpark. We tried to make use of our time and Groupon coupons and memberships. Friday we went to pick up a tired and very hot Vivian. She didn't have lots to say but she did have fun and as far as her favorite activity- "Swimming! I finally cooled off!" We rode on to Granbury and had a fun dinner with our friend's the Langford's. Thanks for that suggestion Jayme and Jason. We love Babe's! Saturday we had another highlight. Nick and I got to take the kids on a surprise adventure to the museum. They had set up a scavenger hunt and special showing of Night at the Museum at the IMAX. We made some fun memories there! Enjoy the pics.

This week was a bit of a mixed bag. Before summer began, I asked the kids their favorite themes for the summer weeks and the two responses I got were pets and superheroes. We were keeping my sister's dog this past week and it was also Vivi's first week of summer so we decided to make it pets. Then I caught wind that it would also be our church's VBS which is superheroes so we just rolled it all into one! I got the fun job of being in charge of snacks for VBS and really had fun with the superhero themes. We spent most of the days relaxing so we'd have energy for our night time VBS. We did some craft projects and did venture to the mall to allow the kids to use their hard earned money to purchase an item of their choosing. Friday we headed to the pet store to check out the pets and get some items for our pets. We got a fun surprise at our library- a princess themed puppet show. Saturday we headed to our museum for a superhero day which was a great ending to our week. It was busy and I didn't realize how tired I would be so I'm still catching up. Enjoy the slideshow!

Week #3- Art Week

This past week was Vivian's last in school so I had some preparing for end of the school parties and sleepovers as well as this week's coming theme (VBS...I'll let you make guesses). We decided to try and keep it fairly simple with an art theme. This included all forms of art, so we had dance parties, piano concerts, and sing offs in our living room many nights, but we did manage to squeeze in a couple of art projects too. The kids created stain glass with stencils. They had a good time with these. Isaac's been having nightmares a lot lately so we decided to renew his mind with God's perfect and pure Word. We created this canvas to remind him that he has no one to fear as God is on his side. This turned out beautiful, and it was a great reminder to write His Word on our hearts! We also studied music, and even had a guest appearance from the King himself- Elvis of course. We also made a trip to one of my favorites Chuy's to have the rainbow sherbert. The finale ended with a silly string fight with our friends the Ellen & Aaron. Enjoy the slideshow.

So we are two weeks in and going crazy! I decided to take on a Fix it Felix week. (For those of you who haven't seen it, go rent Wreck it Ralph to get the reference. It's really great!) For a few years now, yes years, I've wanted to paint our bathroom back to a neutral so for this week I decided to take on this project. So...the only problem, okay the first problem is that the walls were red. So two coats of primer and then two coats of my neutral taupe got me there. No worries, but with dry time it took about 2 days. Second problem, I bought new hardware to try and replace all my lovely brass with bronze. That means I need to paint the cabinets. Third problem, whoever painted them before painted over the hinges so I can't remove all the doors. That's fun! Third problem, once you paint the cabinets and walls, the trim looks pretty horrific. Paint the trim, then the doors look bad. You see how this is going. So what was to be a Memorial Weekend project became all week! But...it turned out great! I really love it but I am pretty exhausted and have a whole new respect for my friends that do this professionally. Isaac was a trooper, actually my whole family was pretty awesome at keeping busy as I painted morning, afternoon, and night. We managed to tuck in a few other home improvement projects during the week as well. Enjoy the slideshow.

We had so much fun taking the kids for the first time to the Renaissance Festival. Even better yet my sister and her family joined us. Although it poured cats and dogs on us, we still had a ball! Thank you daddy for spoiling mommy's crazy ideas! I grouped this to the end of farm week as there was a whole lot of tie in but I wanted to give it it's own slideshow. Enjoy the pics.

Welcome back to our blog. For some of you, you may not look until the summer when it's those long days we just try to make fun and fill up with bonding experiences which typically don't turn out nearly as pretty as they seem on paper. However, I am back to my themes and although I only have my little man at home we are trying to keep it interesting and somewhat educational. Really I'll do anything to avoid what is happening right now, video game mania! We did have some fun times including a trip to the zoo (focused on Texas Wild of course), a day of cooking apple pie, many puzzles and books read, some apple printing, a day at the bowling alley with the Harders (thanks for the call Christina!), a train party for little Lyla, a tooth lost, and a great breakfast. The only thing I missed getting pics of was the day my parents had Isaac. Thursday I got the priviledge of setting up a dorm at TCU campus for my store TCS. My parents in the mean time took Isaac out to the farm to ride Tex and see the new little chickens. They had a great time and were so gracious helping me out for work. Enjoy the slideshow! Well actually one more picture too. I am just going to post it below because I was so proud of my hubbie for doing this. They played a game of giving the Pig a Pancake with site words drawn on to brown paper pancakes. Check this out.

Field Day

So it's May the crazy end of the school year and just busy times ahead. I am just posting a couple of sweet shots of Isaac's end and Vivian's field day. More pics to come as Vivian wraps up school this week!

Christian's 1st Luau

Time is really flying and if I didn't already catch that my nephew is already one years old! WHAT? My sister did a great job on his little luau especially being in May when you have end of the year madness. Attached is a little slideshow from this fun day. Thanks again for making it special. So sad I didn't get any great shots of the sandbox set up outside! Oh well, Happy Birthday little man!

End of April

Wow! I just realized how shamefully behind I am on blogging on our world! Here are a few things that happened in the later part of April that I wanted to mostly put up pictures on. Tea party, for the girls at our church. Thank you Heather Mason you are phenomenal!!So sad I had to leave this early for work. Isaac and I enjoyed a few days left of his school before he gets out. Here I am with my little prince. Our annual Fancy Nancy party at my sister's local bookstore. It was over Earth Day this year. I love the green! Vivian and I ran our first 5K as many of you saw this pic on Facebook, but I thought I'd post it here too! Finally, the love of my life Nick celebrated his 35th and I was completely won over to the Food Truck park!
