Last week we studied safari animals. We had a lot going on not inside our theme but we tried to have a little working with it as well. Mostly we read books about jungle animals, watched animal movies, and over the weekend we visited some theme places. I tried one craft to make a giraffe and this was a good one. Friday we went with our cousin to the Safari park and enjoyed some indoor play. Saturday we had our Gigi here and we went to the new aquarium in town as well as a special safari lunch at Rainforest Cafe. Loads of fun Gigi! Thanks!!

I apologize for being a bit behind. We've had some computer issues, but now that Daddy has fixed those we are back in business! Two weeks ago, we studied science and space. The kids had a great time at home this week (it's getting really unbearable outside) so we are trying to come up with more inside crafts and creative play. Monday we played with our friends Kaylee and Megs and mom had four moon doughs to make space shapes with and the kids had a ball with this! They also took turns being captain of the "space ship" (aka our old car out back) and finished up with a space puzzle inside. Mid-week, we brought out our tent and let them build spacecrafts in there with old recycle materials. Then I moved the tent to each room a different night so the kids could sleep under the stars. We also created some of our own space crafts with tin foil wrapped paper plates and fun fuzzy balls, eyes, and pipe cleaners. The kids loved this! Thursday we went to a dance party with our friends Ellen and Aaron. It was a bit of a truck out there but totally worth it as their library really did it big! We also enjoyed our time with these friends before the summer is almost over! I also found on clearance earlier this year some glow in the dark crafts that punched out in different shapes. We had a ball making a rainbow, pumpkin, cupcake, planets, and stars (we even repeated this with our cousin!). We read many space books and watched a new favorite "Megamind" just about every day. On Friday we ventured to our space museum and saw a laser show for the bargain price of $2 each! It was really fun! Enjoy the slideshow.

A Big Decision

I can't believe it's been two weeks now, but I HAD to post about a BIG Decision made at our house. Vivian asked Jesus into her heart on a random Tuesday night! She was asking some great questions and then talking to me about where she would go after she died. She told me she wanted to live in Heaven with Jesus and I asked her if she understood that He died for her sins (mess-ups), and that she was forgiven but she had to accept this. I tried to talk to her (at a 5 year-old level) about the seriousness of this decision that it was for her entire life and she only had to ask Him in one time but it is a lifetime of commitment to love and obey Him. She agreed. I am just so excited! We called to share the news with our Nana and Papa while they were away on a trip. They brought back with them a sweet cross necklace for her to remember and we bought her a little Bible. We are so thrilled to see how God has been planting seeds through friends and conversations we've had as well as grandparents have had with her. Praise to Him!

Lost shot

I missed this one in the last slideshow and I thought it was too precious of the kids with Nick. He has been doing also a great job of entertaining the kids in the evenings when mommy works. Lots of games around the house, jumping on beds, and other fun too! Thanks Honey!!

Well, it feels like summer has been going on a long time, so needless to say mommy is losing some steam. Still, we're trying to keep with it. This past week we celebrated 4th of July and I realized I didn't take one picture! Nick fortunately did so there are a couple of shots of the kids shooting poppers (we didn't even do fireworks but we did watch them on tv). We were with my sister who returned from her trip to NY that morning so she was wiped as were all of us. I think the heat has done us in. Still, we enjoyed the day of swimming in their pool-2 rounds and a round of grilling and we were shot! We ended up slumbering so we would be there for dance class on Tuesday. We enjoyed but came home to no nap-yuck!! I moved the furniture out of the way and let the kids have at it with WII sports. They really enjoyed this! Wednesday evening we headed to a Cats baseball game- a first for our kids and I think they enjoyed it despite the 100 degrees in the evening. We had seats right behind home plate, but I think what they enjoyed the most was a toss up between $1 hotdog night, a snowcone, or some sports drinks I snuck in for them. Thursday we went to the gym and let the kids shoot some hoops again kids had a blast and it was great till mommy locked her keys in the car. Friday rolled around and we invited our cousin back over to make an attempt at a putt-putt game. It turned out great $1 for the kids and then $5 worth of tokens split between all three. Good deal!! Saturday we did some shopping at a mall a little further and got Vivi hooked up for her uniform needs in the fall. Sunday was also a long day but mostly because I worked the entire day and night for a special event. Enjoy our sports.

This week was filled with adventure and fun and lots of cousin time as she stayed over from Wednesday on. What a fun time to explore dinosaurs!! Monday we decided to make our last attempt at the zoo for the summer to see the electronic dinos. We had fun with our friends Kaylee and Megan (aka Ms. Megs) but I think Megs didn't know what to make of the life size dinos. Tuesday the kids got special watering cans to attack the backyard which we're trying desperately to keep alive and supporting our daddy's work while we're at it-you're welcome. The kids also started trying on their latest craft-dino feet. These turned out soooo cute! Wednesday our cousin joined us for some fun at the library and had the best eye for finding dino books. Way to go Chloe! She also got to join in painting her very own dino feet. Thursday we had a morning of playing in the sprinklers and running our blow up dinos through it. In the afternoon the girls spent their time at the Little Gyms with what else-dino/dragon theme. That was the first attempt at a summer camp there and I think it went well. Friday was my favorite day. We took the kids to the Museum of science and let them dig for dino fossils-they found an entire femur. Than they had a ball creating dinos on the computers and looking at the dinos' skeletons. We ended the afternoon with a viewing of "Night at the Museum 2" with the big dino skeleton. Later that evening we enjoyed a swim party at little Ellie's house. Thanks Ben and Mandy for the cool down. Saturday the kids buried some friends in the sand at the park and Uncle Tad came to pick Chloe up. It was a fun filled week but as you can see Isaac got a little worn down and had to use his dino breathing treatment mask.
