Sweet Homecoming

I need to create a post to say a BIG "Thank you" to my precious husband Nick. Recently I had my first overnighter away from both kiddos. I was able to attend a conference called Just Give Me Jesus where Anne Graham Lotz spoke about our first love Jesus. It was a refreshing time to learn, worship, pray, and just meditate on Jesus. I really needed the time with other women as well in the same life stage. What made the time even better was that my husband spent good time with the kiddos even venturing to Central Market in a rain storm-no fear! To top it all off, when I got home he had the house straightened and flowers and wine waiting for me. Check out the pic of these lovely lilies. They have lasted for a long time now and I've waited to put my fall decorations up because I've been enjoying these. Thank you Nick for always giving me much needed time away and for making it SO GOOD to return home too. I love you!

Cubbies

I was so happy I had my camera with me to capture this sweet moment. This past Sunday Vivi started Awana's. We are so excited!! I am new to this world, so for those of you like me, this is a group that meets once a week and the focus is on memorizing scripture through different methods. The hope is to plant God's Word in our kiddos hearts so they have it to call on later in life. Vivi was joined by many friends including Ellen in this little shot. We are so excited to hear what she has learned. I was going over her scriptures in the car and she could recite three of them to me! WOW! This is what earned her her little vest.

End of Summer

Bye bye summer temperatures! Hello rainy fall!!! I was just reviewing our summer and I had to post one more pic from the end of the summer. Here is Nana playing with the kids in the hammock. I am so happy when I look at this picture but I am equally happy to see rain outside my window and feel the cool air.

Mommy's Little Monster

We are seeing changes daily in little Isaac. One unfortunate change is that I had to wean him pretty much overnight. After returning from a short trip to San Antonio, I got double eye infections and a mouth full of ulcers. The only antibiotic available for my eyes, I cannot take while nursing and without it my eyes will take a LONG time to heal so...here we go! So far it has been very difficult but one blessing is Isaac has taken the bottle okay. Another blessing is that this boy can eat and does eat everything but the kitchen sink in our house. He has also been working on some new teeth which has made for interesting nights around here. The most interesting part is that he has his two middle bottom teeth and the next two to come in are the top inscisors (not the middle but the fangs)! We are calling him mommy's little monster. See if you can catch them in these pics.

1st day back

Thank God it's September is all I can say. My prayer is for some nice changes for the fall. This summer was fun but there were also many trials and I am hoping God is taking me through all of this so I do learn to trust Him more and to really appreciate and "remember" the good things. Today I am reminded of this verse in Romans. "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." I am clinging to this verse as we start a new season. Another sweet thing I am holding onto is my kiddos. Here is a picture of Vivi on her first day back to preschool. Boy has she changed a lot this year!
