Cowboys and Cowgirls

This last weekend of summer we had a relaxing one. We spent a good portion of the day cleaning, or let me rephrase, I spent a good portion of the day cleaning and the kids got to play cowboys- at Nana and Papa's cowboy breakfast and cowgirls out at the ranch with Papa. Enjoy my favorite pics.

Back to School!

We now have a 1st grader. Let me speak for just a brief moment about the drop off. Vivian is a champ and so level she never gets super up or down, which is sometimes hard but also can be very beneficial. So, I take Vivian in the first day and she's quite talkative so I know she's feeling good, but I'm all waah waah waah. (Not to be confused with crying waa waa waa!) This is that all climactic moment that fizzles out to quickly. She's good. I'm blessed, I know it could go any way but she's so over needing me. At least, I know that's not entirely true but it feels a bit that way. She's so good. So...when you're little one is crying in need for you feel good because there is some piece of us as mommy's that needs to be needed. I am grateful for my girl and how well she's already jumping back in. Check out these pics.

Week 14- Mr. Fix It

Okay, it was the last week of summer and I really had the best intentions of getting all organized. I did accomplish some major feats but overall not nearly what I set out to do. On Monday, we rearranged Vivian's room and that was a biggie and took all day. I think it turned out really cute, but I realized I didn't take any before shots for dramatization. Still, I took some of it completed and it looks great! We also painted a trunk we bought from a friend at a garage sale. It is housing many of Vivi's stuffed animals but also...a new friend. So as mentioned on the previous entry, Nick had the kids for a weekend while I was away with friends. During that time, Vivian attended a sweet birthday party and discovered these friends had many pets. One of which, they were fostering and trying to find a home for. If you know Vivi, you know she is 100% obsessed with pets. We told her for her next birthday we may look into getting her a guinea pig (still not ready for the dog yet). Well, what did they happen to be fostering but a guinea pig named Beaver. So...Nick talked with the dad Jeff and got some more information. Low and behold, we are now fostering Beaver for one week to see how it all goes. Chances are looking good that he is joining our family permanently. She is pretty pumped and being such a responsible owner already. There are a few pictures of these things and little house projects as well. More to come on my dream projects I'll be working on not in summer! <

I know by now many if not all of your kids are back to school. Mine have started back but I wanted to quickly finish up our summer themes and then I'll post a little about our school year! The last two weeks of summer we did keep some themes going. Second to last we did a space theme with a few fun ideas-than you pinterest, and a great trip to the circus! I'm clumping that in! Enjoy the slideshow.

Pet Week- Week 12

I have officially lost steam! This past week I kept it REAL simple for pet week. Basically, I decided last minute to change it to this as this is kind of our obsession in our house anyway. It just gave freedom to watch our favorite movies, read our favorite books, and talk about our favorite subject pets. Here is my favorite shot from the week and probably the most exciting thing that happened. We got to make one of our discounted movies with our cousin Chloe "Hotel for Dogs". Purrrrfect!

Hello August and hello 100 degrees. As our summer draws to a close, we still carry on strong with our themes and fun plans. This past week we studied under the sea concluding the week with our big summer trip to San Antonio. This time we took our friends the Davidsavers and all hit Sea World for a couple of days with Nick's folks. It was a blast!!! I am so grateful to Gail and Bob for their generosity and for the fun memories. Here are a couple of pictures of the week leading up into including some art projects, books from the library, and of course pics from our trip and time in SA.

This past week we tried to take it a little easy after our previous staycation week. We studying cooking which involved the kids helping me with the menu each night and decorating our table up nice to go with our dinner. We did a little cooking at home but the big highlight was getting to take a cooking class at Young Chef's Academy. I think they had a decent time mostly Isaac had a time picking at others. Their cupcakes turned out cute and yummy according to the kids. They also got a new playdoh set that they could make popsicles and lollipops on and an old classic movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". The kids loved the playdoh but didn't quite know what to make of the movie. Vivian had lots of questions. Still, it was fun to do something different. Saturday we hosted a bunch of families for supper club so again the kids got to help with dinner. They enjoyed being little hosts and playing with friends over here. Enjoy the slideshow.

Happy Birthday Kyndall

Happy Birthday Kyndall! Thanks for letting us come swim. This makes me hope that we get to experience some more years with these sweet school friends.
