Hungry Caterpillar Shower
My sister and mom, sweet gems, threw me a precious little Hungry Caterpillar Shower. It was a nice night of adult conversation with many special details. I think you'll see my party planning passion is genetic! Check out some shots of the deco and me and family.

Benbrook Lake
After the crazy storms we got this past weekend, we were blessed with some BEAUTIFUL weather here in the Metroplex. We decided to take advantage as this type of weather=Fall, usually only lasts about a week or so in Texas. Nick picked up some chicken and took Vivi and I to our Benbrook Lake here about 5 minutes from our home. Vivi enjoyed the wind in her face and mommy enjoyed the easy dinner and time with her little family.
Game night with Primetimers
One of our traditional social events with our church group is to meet with another group called the Primetimers for a little game night. This year, Ike was hitting the coast on the same day. This lead to smaller numbers but I think the little girls stole the show. All of us that made it towed our kids along with us. I REALLY enjoyed seeing Vivi get all dressed up. Here she is with Claire and Ellen playing pretty pretty princess, or really just throw on some jewels!

John Paul's Birthday
We decided to make the truck to Mckinney to visit our little friend John Paul for his 3rd birthday. It was such a good chance for mommy to catch up with old roomies from college and for Vivi to enjoy the firetrucks...not exactly. As you'll see during our tour of the firestation Vivi was much more interested in JP's little bro Andrew than she was in the firemen, or gear, or sirens. We really enjoyed the park, cake, and sharing JP's new tricycle as well. Thanks for inviting us Amber!
Little Gyms Begins
We just discovered a new world at the Little Gym's. We decided to sign up to take some classes- really Nick and Vivi will take the class on Saturdays when they can. I thought it would be a fun bonding time for them. I just decided to sneak in on their first class so I could capture some of her "joy" with the camera. I was blown away at how my shy little girl bolted across this place, and flipped, and danced, and hung on the bars like a monkey. I may need to consider this for a birthday party, and you readers know that's a big deal for someone who wants to plan parties for a living!
1st Day of Preschool
Flower Girls
This was our last chance to really break out our white shoes and dresses over Labor Day weekend, and we did. I just love this little dress on Vivi and God gave us a special treat in having our lantana bloom beautiful orange flowers as well. Vivi also enjoyed a shoulder ride on daddy going into church.
The fun continues...
After my big night of fun with Nick, my mom and sister had planned a special day. We traveled to Southlake where my mom scheduled pedicures for she and my sister and I got a stone massage. It was wonderful! See how relaxed I look with my sister! Afterwards, we enjoyed a lunch at Corner Bakery and some little shopping. The guys kept Vivi and Chloe and we came back for a major fun dessert. Mom had created a beautiful shoe cake and cookies. We enjoyed dessert and presents while the girls loved my balloons and a little swim time with daddies! It was truly one to remember.
Jen's Big 30
Thanks to all who made my birthday a special day! This year at the end of August I celebrated the big 30. Nick planned a special evening that was able to take place thanks to my sister and brother-in-law watching Vivi. He took me for a great dinner at the Reata and then back home for a big surprise. He had converted our living room into a tent and written a nice poem for me. As I came in I was surprised by all the candles, flowers, and my favorite ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. The trick-there are no Baskin Robbins in Ft. Worth so that one took some major planning. Here are a couple of shots.
